“Our school strives to be a positive, caring community in which each individual is valued and respected. We aim to create an exciting and challenging learning environment, to promote creativity and to achieve physical and academic excellence….”

Since 1986 children have enjoyed their formative years of education at this school. Previously the school was based at Cyprus Terrace before the move to new premises to cope with increasing numbers. We strive to ensure that our long tradition of achievement in all areas of the curriculum is maintained and enhanced for your child in the face of the rapidly changing world of education and society.

In 2011 Newport Community School became an academy, which is essentially a government funded independent school. The school community voted in favour of this change demonstrating an ambition to manage its own affairs.

We are putting all our efforts into fostering a caring but disciplined environment in which your child will fulfil their potential and develop a positive attitude to education. We will provide a broad, balanced and challenging curriculum, which includes the national curriculum, as well as extra curricular activities.

Academic, sporting and artistic performance are important, but more important are the values that go with it. We are a highly inclusive school which seeks to promote good manners and a consideration and understanding of others, both within the locality and the wider world.

We aim to work in partnership with you. The school’s motto is ‘Learning together, achieving together.’ The role of a parent is critical in a child’s early years and we hope to work with you and your family to develop your child’s potential. We provide highly trained and committed staff and cheerful, well-displayed classrooms which are conducive to effective teaching and learning.

I look forward to welcoming your family to Newport Community School Primary Academy.
