Christmas Hampers Appeal for the Freedom Centre

Once again Newport School families have shown their community spirit by supporting our Christmas Hamper appeal for the Freedom Centre.

We had an overwhelming amount of donations for the hampers.  We had mountains of mince pies, delicious chocolates, wonderful warm socks and brilliant bubble bath treats to name just a few.   It kept the Year 6 School Council and members of staff very busy and we made up an amazing 53 Christmas hampers.  We also had over 40 children’s gifts and colouring sets donated which will be handed out by the Freedom Centre.

This week we had a visit from Becky who works at the Freedom Centre to hand over the hampers and gifts.  She was overwhelmed by the amount that we had made and said that it will make a real difference to the people in our community.

School Council would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who donated something and to those who helped us put the hampers together.  We wish you all a very Merry Christmas!
