Life at Newport

Life in a large primary school of 500 pupils is busy and rewarding. We value all pupils regardless of their background and personality type. Indeed, this large school has a very inclusive ethos, noted in our Ofsted inspection, where the individual child is developed and respected.

From the age of 3 years for our nursery pupils or on entry at 4 years for reception pupils until they leave at end of year 6, children at Newport have access to a wide range of opportunities and experiences. Trips, extra curricular clubs, drama, music performances and residential visits supplement the rich curriculum on offer at the Academy.

We want our children to take full advantage of the curriculum and extra curricular work, so that they grow and flourish in a safe and rewarding environment. Sport, the arts, IT and outdoor education are all on offer.

As the children mature, we expect them to assume greater responsibility for their learning and in particular homework and reading as well as their belongings. We hope that these values will prepare them well for life at secondary school.
