School Council

The School Council is the voice of the children in helping to shape our school community. They meet weekly together, and half-termly with their assigned classes to pass on information and collect ideas.

Children across the school have voted to elect their new school council committee for 2016-2017.

Almost every child in year 6 has made a commitment to school council this year and nominations were put forward for the positions on the School Council Committee. After being nominated by their year group, eight year 6 children presented their ideas and visions for leading the school through school council in an assembly.

The audience was impressed by the confident and charismatic election speeches of all eight candidates and following the elections and a series of interviews with the teachers, the school council committee was selected as follows:

Chairpersons – Daisy and Romilly

Secretaries – Tom

Treasurer – Grace

Freedom Centre Team Leader – Jack

Newspaper Team Leader – Owen

Charities / Fundraising Team Leader – Isobel

Advertising Team Leader / Display board – Freya

Well done to all the children who put themselves forwards and congratulations to the children who were successful! We are looking forward to an exciting year ahead!
