Y1 Trip to Skern Lodge, 23rd March 2018

On Friday 23rd March Year One enjoyed an outdoor education day at Skern Lodge.

The children enjoyed exploring the site and searched for clues to investigate the story of a young boy who once lived on the farm. Each group took part in a number of challenging activities throughout the day, with everyone trying something new and thoroughly enjoying themselves.

We bravely descended into dark, narrow tunnels to experience the gloom and difficulty of working at night.

After trekking up and across muddy fields, keeping our eyes peeled for clues, we were able to take in spectacular views and noticed how the landscape has changed over time.

We even took on the challenge of climbing along the precarious traversing wall, being careful not to fall into the ‘sea’ below.

The whole group returned to school exhausted but content after a fantastic day!
