Our seed potatoes have been sat in egg boxes on our windowsill for the past few weeks to encourage the shoots to spout. In gardening club this week, we took our seed potatoes down to the new raised beds. We filled the raised beds with some compost ready for our potatoes and used our hands to break it all up and make the soil soft and smooth. We made a hole about 10cm deep and then popped our potatoes in with the shoots pointing up. We tucked them in with the fresh soil to protect them from the frost. Now we just have to wait and watch for them to grow.
