Reception having finished their theme of learning ‘Mud, Mess and Mixtures’ by mixing colours to create new ones.

We mixed different materials with colours to create a collage. The children applied their individual preferences to be creative in their collages.

We experimented with colour transferring with water and skittles. The colours stayed separate to each other initially. We left it overnight predicting it'll turn brown when all the colours mixed.

We made natural dye to colour flags using beetroot and turmeric. The children cut, mashed and sieved to squeeze all the purple colour out. It was really hard to twist the elastic bands on the flags to make different patterns before dipping them in the dye.
