Year 1 Lettuce!

We got to harvest our lettuces this week!

Year 1 have been growing lettuces in the edible garden. We planted them before Easter and have been looking after them by watering every day and checking there were no bugs eating them. This week we were very excited to find that they had grown big enough to eat. First, we took a very sharp knife and cut the lettuce close to the ground. After that we took our lettuce to Mrs Wade in the kitchen. She washed it and prepared it for our lunch. Most of us thought it tasted delicious!
