Year 1 Roman Day

On Thursday Year 1 had a fantastic time taking part in their Roman Day. We started the day by painting frescoes of banquets to decorate the walls and learnt about Roman numerals. The children sang a Roman song and learnt how to say a good morning and good afternoon in Latin. In the afternoon we got the classroom ready and the whole of Year 1 joined together for an amazing banquet. They ate apple, pear, grapes, dried fruit, lettuce, bread, cheese, carrot and porridge! A brilliant day was had by all.
