Year 5 Starting their new Writing Unit

This week in year 5, we have started our new writing unit which focuses on the poem ‘ The Sea’ by James Reeves, which uses the metaphor of a dog to describe the sea. Year 5 worked in teams to annotate and interrogate the poem, deciding which stanzas and parts of the poem linked to different pictures of waves . Year 5 had to pull our evidence from the poem and justify why they felt certain waves linked to particular parts of the poem.
