Gymnastics Competition

Wow! What a fantastic day!

On Saturday, 7 teams of children took time out of their weekend to compete for the school at the North Devon Schools’ Gymnastics Competition. The gymnasts have worked so hard for this coming into school early this term to practise their skills. On the day, there were a few nerves but they all did a fantastic job and represented the school brilliantly.

U7 Amber – 2nd

U7 Emerald – 4th

U9 Emerald - 1st

U9 Amber – 2nd

U11 – 5th

U9 intermediate team – 2nd

Jack – 2nd

Collette – 2nd

Jesse – 2nd

Cienna – 1st

There were also 2 special awards that were received by Newport children. Cienna received an award for musical interpretation; her routine had the whole audience clapping along. Leila received the award for endeavour to recognise her hard work and bravery when she was put out of her comfort zone.

A huge well to all of the children who took part in the competition; we are extremely proud of you and can’t wait to do it all again next year!
