This Friday 8th May 2020 is a bank holiday in celebration of VE day. VE Day stands for Victory in Europe Day which is a day commemorating the official end of the Second World War. VE Day took place on Tuesday, May 8, 1945. That was 75 years ago! Every year people have continued to celebrate this event. On Friday 8th May, around the country, people will be celebrating the end of the war and remembering those who fought and died. It is also the reason we have the bank holiday.
You could dress up in the colours red, white and blue, which are the colours of the Union Jack flag. You might want to use some face paints or maybe make your own hat to wear to the party.
You could make some decorations for your house or to display in your windows. We have put together some ideas for you.
