Year 1 Beach Trip

On Tuesday, year 1 had a fantastic trip to Westward Ho! beach. The children were very excited to travel on a coach! Our day was led by the Northam Rangers who taught the children how to look for creatures in the rock pools. They found crabs, anemones, shrimp, fish and hundreds of sea snails. Then we had a long walk down the beach to talk to the RNLI lifeguards about how we can keep safe on the beach this summer. After lunch, we pretended to be pirates; the children drew the treasure they thought they might find then tried to navigate a treasure map in the sand and not get caught! We ended the day with a lovely paddle in the sea to cool down before the trip home. We all had an amazing day!
