Year 5 started their learning about China by celebrating The Chinese New Year this week. The classroom was decorated with Chinese lanterns and bunting and a soundtrack of calming Chinese music helped to set the scene. We learnt about the story of how the Chinese zodiac came to be as well as making Chinese dragons and an amazing Chinese lion in preparation for our celebratory lion dance next week! Now that we have learnt about modern day Chinese celebrations, we will begin our journey back in time to learn about the mighty Shang Dynasty!
